With 3 of my greys getting on so well, 2 of them disabled we have today had a move around and moving them all in together. It's a completly different cage so shouldn't get any problems with territory etc, and there's plenty room It's a nice sized cage.  We are well impressed with the new set up, and especially chuffed with the front of the cage which we have converted (very easily) into a drawbridge/flat perch for the 2 disabled birdies.  All we did was use a length of chain with 2 toys hooks each end, and that holds the drop down door up. Then we added a rat cargo net on top of the drop down bit, as something for them to grip onto other than the cage. Bex loves it!  On the floor of the cage there is a cozy hut, as well as food bowls for the 2 that eat off the floor, then a few normal perches, as both disabled greys can perch for short periods.  So here's the pics, quite impressed if I do say so myself.

That looks brilliant. Very well thought out. I love that rat cargo net you have put on the drawbridge. Where did you get it from? I think Rufus would like to perch on that on our drawbridge rather than the wire of the cage.

Looks great and they sure do seem to like it!!

Can I ask where you got the platform perch in the corner? One of my boys like to sit flat like a little buddha when he settles for the night and I've got a few cajeput platforms but he destroys them really quickly. Your one looks a little more hard wearing.

Cheers

The rat cargo net they sell on ebay in the rodent section, or some pets at home stores sell them for about £8.   The wooden platform perch I got off ebay, but it's quite small.  They do some good chinchilla one's too in most big pet stores, they are good solid perches. Dave is going to make me a full length one for the back of the cage. You can pick up the bits from B & Q and just drill the holes in, 4 washers, 2 screws, sorted!  They are all happily playing inside at the moment after being out all day, wanted them to settle in the cage before bed time. So far so good! x
