I know I am probably preaching or speaking to the converted but yesterday at a loss what to give my birds for tea, not that there was'nt anything for them, but fussy lickle devils had been turning their beaks up lately, so I baked some birdy friendly blueberry muffins, toasted some crumpets and put butter on them, and made some cheese and strawberry sandwiches(brown bread) and gave them a high tea, after first checking it out, they all filled their little faces and licked their beaks. John said where's mine, so I gave him the same, he liked the hot buttered crumpets, thought the 'birdy' muffins tasted different to normal (well they would would'nt they, but I did'nt have the heart to tell him they werea birdy recipe) and picked the strawberries out of the sandwich. So if your little darlings are turning their beaks up at roast and 3 veg, try a high tea, its simple and seems to go down well even with the ole man!!!

My one aim is to serve the parrots in my care, to help those to weak to defend themselves, and bring alittle happiness into their lives, I prefer parrots to people but can handle them in moderation :)

Variety certainly does get their little birdy juices flowing. Maybe little cucumber sandwiches for the boys today then!

I tried to make a parrot friendly fairy cake for Oodie with coconut raisins etc. I wish I had taken a photo of what came out of the oven which looked a bit like cow pats.

While he was 'helping' me to cook he chewed a raisin then dropped it back into the raisin jar, needle in a haystack. I hope I don't get the 'lucky raisin'.
