Hi guys, I was reading a website and trying to find foods that are high in vitamin A that I can get Rosie to eat. I came across a chart and the leaves of the broccoli were the highest thing on there, the only thing is when you buy a broccoli the leaves are removed. Does anyone know anywhere where I can get one with the leaves still on, or is growing my own going to be the best way to go?

Thanks

Purple sprouting broccoli comes with it's leaves on, and curly Kale is rich in vitamin A? My parrot won't touch either!

It is really easy to grow your own, I do. All you need is a pot per plant then you can grow all year round just like any other plant and you are sure to know its organic.

i steam sweet pots or roast them, the birds love then, or i make them into wedges....mind you majority of mine are big birds., but a sweet potato mash would suit any bird i would think.

My one aim is to serve the parrots in my care, to help those to weak to defend themselves, and bring alittle happiness into their lives, I prefer parrots to people but can handle them in moderation :)

My lot all love sweet potato but I can hardly get any other veg. down them. I wrap them in foil with some butter, and put them in the oven. They get them with chicken bones when wh have a roast.

Rosie loves her sweet potato, i usually microwave one for 4-5 mins and either mash or cube it up. She has been getting a right mix of things lately and didn't touch her last one. She loved her green beans this afternoon aswell as some apple this morning. We recently bought some A-C-E High vitamin powder and found that mixes with the mash great
