Well last night about 3am to be precise I heard flapping about down stairs I rushed down to find Douggie my tiel flapping .

As a result he has lost all flight feathers on one wing. I was woundering if any one can reasure me they will grow back.

It looks bad I will try and take pictures later.

Rita, I had the EXACT same thing with my tiel and she was a little subdued for a few days but still managed some flight and is now back in feather perfect condition.

Douggie will be fine!!

I have read quite a bit about cockatiels and these night frights.... So far I have been lucky with my little Koda. I do hope Douggie recovers quickly

I am sure she will grow the flight feathers back.
Night fright is horrible.
Some of our Macaws have had it before but nothing too serious thankfully.

Well thanks for all your help.

I feel so sorry for him. He can't fly with the others and I think under his wing is sore as he keeps preening it.

Aw, poor baby

last time I heard our lot flapping, the only time in fact, there had been an earth quake miles away!

Rosie the galah ended up in the water dish!

Poor Douggie. Chirpy's had quite a few night frights but luckily no serious injuries from them. I would think the feathers will grow back but you may have to wait a while!! Tiels are such strong fliers that he may surprise you!

I always use a small night light with my tiels, it seems to have stopped the night frights.
