Hi All,

As some of you may know, we recently upgraded the Birdline website to the latest software. This was required by our hosts as the version of the software we were using was out of date and no longer supported.

Since we upgraded the website, we have had  a number of users having problems viewing the site. Although we have not been able to fix the problem so far, we have tracked down what is causing it. The problem seems to stem from incompatibility between this site and users Internet browsers. Most noticeably Internet Explorer 6 or the AOL browser (some version of the AOL software use Internet Explorer 6 as their browser engine).

If you are finding that you are having problems with the website, please check what browser version you are using, and consider upgrading. Microsoft recently announced that Internet Explorer not only has some serious security flaws in it, but also that they will soon be marking it as "End of Life".  Google, the worlds largest internet seach provider has also announced that it will soon stop support for Internet Explorer 6.

To check what version of Internet Explorer you are using, whilst in the browser, click Help then About. People using Internet Explorer 7 or above, or those using Firefox do not seem to be adversely affected.

Sorry, but I have to add this to protect Birdline. Such is the society we live in....
Please be sure to get advice from a professional before upgrading your pc. Birdline will not be responsible for any loss or damage to your PC by any recommendations or advice given in this post.
