A couple of weeks ago I had to pick up 6 zebra finches plus a baby in the nest. They HAD to be moved as the owners were moving to a flat with no room for them.
So with grave misgivings Marc and I picked up the adults and the baby still in it's nest. They had to be moved into a budgie cage for traveling. Then we got them home and had to put there cage back together and move them again back in to their original cage.
I was very worried that the parents after all that upheval would desert the baby, but no, once back in their cage they resumed normal parenting as if nothing had happened.
And today the baby fledged! Woo hoo, I am such a proud aunty LOL.
I know zebra finches are very good parents, but I am so pleased they were not put off by all the "human interference".
