Im sure they will be soon be your best friends.Sadie will love you giving her wolf whistles and treats, only trouble is she will not stop whistling back to you for ages.Good luck with them Mary, we know you can do it.x |

Mary, I too would love to read your diary on progress with Sadie and Adie. If you have any hot tips for cockatiels you can let me know so I can try them with Dixie Dean, our safehouse cockatiel. I've found that Dixie loves to play with shoe laces, so I don't know if your two would like to try something similar? Keep us posted |

Mary I'm impressed! Our s/h tiel Dixie is a noisy little character but doesn't have the confidence to take food from a hand yet. You're obviously doing really well. Keep us posted with pictures please |

sadie and adie are doing well, sadie came out for a litlle last night but adie was to scared too, when i go to try stoke adies belly sadie bites him what should i do?
sadie likes trying to hide under the paper in her cage and i put grapes in there cage bars for them to eat, mum said maybe not as many grapes next time as there was to many hehe.
here is a pic of sadie hiding and one with there grapes

sadie trying to hide hehe, i have to change there paper too times so they dont step in poop but when i put new paper in sadie just wants to play with it

sadie and adie with there grapes yum yum |

I think you instinctively know whats right and not, so tell mum to go away lol sorry only joking, I would say sadie is trying to keep adie away from you, apparently and this is quite a discussed thing, when a bird goes to bite you when someone else is nearby its the birds way of chasing you away from the competition..its not attacking you its trying to make you move away from danger/competition. So when you stroke Sadie and she pecks Adie she is making him leave the situation for whatever reason she has in her head. Well thats how it was explained to me ......I find my tiels like fruit kebabs...bits of apple, pear and they just love warm corn of the cob with some butter soaked in. Just ideas for you to get your mum to do lol keep up the good work mary. |

Hi Mary, You are doing very well with them. Adie letting you stroke him is great, because he was the most shy one.Sadie I think is showing you she is a wee bit jealous and wants all your attention for herself.Adie always preferred to stay in his cage, but once he was out he enjoyed himself, but we had to take him out. Sadie would come by herself, and once she was out she would step up if you tempted her with a treat.Have you given them a spray yet. They really love that, and will open their wings and nearly go upside down for you. i BET THEY LOVE YOU LOTS ALREADY. X |

Hi Mary Try tempting them out by puttuing a perch just outside the door and all there treats on the outside of the cage, they look cheeky so will eventually come out and play. Your doing really well keep it up |
