Hi everyone,

I've just joined birdline, have known about the website for quite a while and have lurked for a while! Originally found it as I'm a member of birdboard.com which is mainly American.

Hope to become a more active member! I share my flat with Indie my nanday conure. He's 14 months old and full of trouble (she says as he picks the keys off of her laptop). I've also worked with a variety of birds in my time on the Camp America programme - mainly a sun conure, budgie, cockatiel and blue and gold macaw with a few others visiting the camp from time to time. My job was teaching kids about the care of all the animals there - 7ft boa constrictors, baby pigs, rabbits, degu's etc...lots of fun and led me to getting Indie.

Hope all are well and hi!

Hi and welcome Indie's mum/dad. Do we call you Midas or do you have another name you would like to be known by? On the left is Bosun my gw macaw, and I also have a BL galah called Rossi together with a safehouse bird most of the time.

Ooo thank you for the welcoming replies! You can call me Stacey - it's just easier to have a generic username to remember but Stacey is just fine!

I'm based in North London, zone 2 area if anyones familiar, am teacher training in Uxbridge at the moment and am not too far from the likes of Enfield if that helps place me a bit better! I would love to be a safehouse - if there's any events that I can come to or help out at (though I wouldn't bring Indie for fear he'd bugger off...) it would be grand

Hi Stacey and welcome to the madhouse and friendly crew that is BL I know you're going to make someone down south very happy. I believe Vicky Whitfield is your ACO, but may be wrong. Certainly we're always on the lookout for new safehouses. It would be nice to see pics of you and Indie, so we know who we're chatting with (since it sounds like Indie does most of the typing lol.)

It's actually just the one bird with me however I was raised with a lot of animals. Only moved to London about 3 months ago for postgrad course - originally from Somerset and so at home in the shire we've got 2 dogs, 4 rats, a guinea pig, far too many fish (rather boring if you ask me...) but have previously owned cockatiels, budgies, rabbits, chinchillas, anything else that looked us with big, sad eyes Dogs and birds definitely steal the show for me

'I'd love to be a safe house'

Oh Stacey.....BIG mistake to say that!!!!!! Huge mistake in fact!!!

Be very afraid......run for the hills......get away before it's too late!!!!

Welcome to Birdline by the way!!

Hello again everyone - I ran for the hills but it's ok, I'm back again briefly!

I need to double, triple and quadruple check with my partner. He gave the thumbs up but I'm going to let him read the lovely members pack I got today so he 'learn stuff'. As for photo's - do I need to upload them to a free site and then link it or can I attach it somehow?

Hope you're all well
