This is George who is on the re homing list. S/he came to us 3 weeks ago having lived his past 30 years in a very small cage. S/he was very wary of people and wouldn't even come out of his/her cage for the first week! Georgie just sat and shook on a perch. It was heart breaking. This photo is him/her and my hubby 2 weeks after he moved in with us. It took Sean alot of time and patience to get this far.

2 and a half  weeks later.......

3 weeks later!!   All Georgie needs now is a forever home where s/he can be loved for the remainder of his/her ( there is a feeling George could be a girl hence Georgie!) life. Doesn't this show that with a little time and TLC even the old uns can forgive and forget what has been done during their life and learn to trust again. I am so proud of them both.

Well done Georgie, and Sean. That is one to shout about, life can only get better for him/her as confidence grows.

Great photos and congratulations. I had to reread the 'small cage , 30yrs' several times. Left me feeling a bit sad, I'm glad he's with you.

George came in a cage that looked a bit like the roof of a mosque, bulbous at the top. It was circular, with an approximate measurement of 15" across the floor. We were told that he(?) was out all day, but in a bedroom. His mum died. The next day George was in our lounge, in a spare cage of ours, and his cage went down to the tip, having been stamped on to render it useless to anyone else.
Laura, you and Sean have done wonders for a very sad little bird. With any luck George will be in a new home very soon, one that will give him a decent cage,
and better food than sunflower seeds! Well done, you and Sean.
