hi everyone,
im vanessa, i live in devon with my hubby, 3 kids and 3 dogs. i work voluntarily for a local dog rescue. i help to find foster homes for our dogs (most were on deathrow in pounds)
im new to bird keeping and dont have a bird at mo, but im hoping to change that very soon 
i have friends with birds (african greys and macaws) so have some knowledge and lots of support. anyway, i look forward to getting to know you all. xx |

Hi Ness and welcome to the madhouse that is BL. There are quite a few of our members down your way, so you'll almost certainly have chance to mee someone over the summer at shows. I'm up in Manchester, so it'll have to be virtual meeting. Have you thought about becoming a safehouse? That way you could get some bird experience with your ACO's support and help BL out with a much needed role. As everyone else has said, chat gets busy on Mon & Thurs around 8.30pm(ish). Oh, pictures of you and your flock (including non-feathered ones  ) are always welcome. |

i would love to safehouse! sounds like a great way to meet different species of birds and gain some experience. ive managed to secure a bird cage tonight too, so nearly have what i need now xx  |

its very rewarding to safehouse, i have at the moment 2 lesser sulphur crested cockatoos and waiting for a medium sulphur crested cockatoo to come, im a bit of a cockatoo fan but i do have african greys of my own. some birds are given to birdline with a cage, therefore some come to you with that, |
