As we are getting lots of good photos on the forum now is there any where they could be put so we can view them all together?  Or is the other sites gallery still in use?

Hi Guys,
I'll look into adding a Gallery. We have to be careful though as Galleries tend to increase the amount of storage space we use which adds up to more cost for Birdline.

I've just spoken to our hosting provider and increased our storage.. just need to find a decent Gallery.. most seem a bit flaky... leave it with me. |

I was just thinking about this topic. Rather than a complicated external additional webspace, perhaps we could have a thread in a folder on here within which ONLY a photo of the bird is allowed, with a short "Pinky - Hyacinth Cockteil aged 2yrs".
Most of our best photos become buried in the responses and it's hard to ever see them again. I love the threads they create but...
Imagine a thread where you could just scroll down through dozens of high resolution piccies of birds.
PLUS (and this is a big plus)
As long as the spelling on your birdies breed is right in the text under the photo, we will quickly push Birdline up the rankings of the search engines for searches based on those keywords.
Most of the birdy websites I have found have been through keywords used in forums. People will stumble upon BL through the web search, fall in love and we all live happily ever after.

Hey Oodie,
We do actually have a Gallery now, it's here.
I have no problem creating a forum for this kind of thing, but we have to take into account costs. The more space we use, the more it costs. We are currently using about half of our monthly allowance.. if we start adding lots of large photo's we will soon go over this and then need to start adding additional space at additional cost.
