Hi
I'm Michelle and live in Croydon with my partner Ian and our Cockatiel Chirpy.
Chirpy is 2 and rules the roost here!
I joined this site ages ago but never really looked at it much until a recent e-mail and we have now applied to rehome a tiel from here - Oscar. Only filled out the applicaion today but we are all very excited about the prospect.
Keep your fingers crossed for us.
Michelle, Ian and Chirpy |

Hi Michelle, I'm delighted to see another 'local'. I live in Coulsdon, just down the road to you, and I'm your ACO. Please feel free to call me or contact me with any questions, or come down for a cuppa and meet my flock... Doddie |

Hi Everyone and thanks for the welcome. Can't believe I registered on this site ages ago then never used it, spent loads of time looking around today, it's good to have a UK only forum, the other ones I use are mainly americans. Doddie - I assume that if we get chosen to rehome Oscar you'll be around for our home check. I'd love to meet your flock, what birds do you have? Do you know any decent local pet shops that actually stock bird stuff? I really struggle and order most of mine on line or wait til I visit my parents, there's a great shop in Paignton! Michelle |

2 Amazons, 1 Grey, 1 Medium Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, they're the 'permanents'. The rest change on a regular basis. At the moment I have Boswell Jardine and Harvey Hahn's Macaw (both on the Rehoming List) and Spielberg Mealie Amazon. I get smaller birds a lot, too, lots of 'tiels, budgies, canaries, etc. but not at the moment. As for pet shops, I don't have a favourite locally. Have you looked at Scarletts? She sells everything except seeds, and she delivered extremely quickly, and she's the cheapest I've found. I'll pm you. Doddie |

Yeah just looked on Scarlett's website, she's loads cheaper than the supplier I currently use so I'll be changing over!! I'm looking for other places that sell pellets really as I feed Chirpy a mix of seed and pellets, alongside offering lots of other healthy foods of course!! So far I've only found Northern Parrots who sell them, they're really good but the postage is alot when all you're ordering is pellets. |

Sadly got turned down today for rehoming Oscar, totally understand why as we cannot have 2 cages in our house long term and it would depend on him and Chirpy getting on. Obviously we wouldn't want to put him through the stress of moving again. We are now applying to be a safehouse for cockatiels so if we do get to foster one, if they get on we could then apply to be their forever home. Much better for both birds. I'm still gutted though of course, had got myself very excited! |

You have to remember Birdline Birds and your own birds are not allowed to bond. |
