Hi

Can I please request that all members applying for a bird, that you apply for ONE BIRD AT A TIME. We do state this on the rehoming page.

Rehoming is up and running now and applications are being received.

We know applications have been lost in cyber space and we are now working through what we have.We appreciate your patience

By applying for several birds YOU ARE SLOWING down the rehoming process.

Read about the bird you are applying for, if they dont like men and you are a man, Why apply? If they dont like dogs and you have dogs, again why apply? This is only slowing down the process.

We know you are all looking forward to giving a bird a new home, and we appreciate your applications.

If you are serious about a bird, then apply for the bird you want to give a home to.

Many thanks for your support

Mel

Hi Mandy

Yes please only for a few days please.

Steve thanks for the suggestion but dont have the ability to do what you suggest

The thing is it states when members apply for a bird on the rehoming page to only apply for one bird, and members have to go through this page to apply. Its just to get the message across.

Perhaps the wording could be changed to one application at a time as at the moment it could be read as only one bird on the form at a time not the number of applications you put in

Dianne, that is exactly what Mel means, if someone submits SEVERAL APPLICATIONS at a time it SLOWS the whole process down. If people are not successful one their first application for a bird, they will then be asked to re apply for another one.

I am new to Birdline and I have applied for 2 birds - whoops sorry, didn't mean to hold things up.  Would like to make it clear though that the reason I did this was that the original bird I applied for had a red message under him the morning after I sent in my application, so I assumed he was about to be homed at any minute, so I sent in an application for another bird.

Sorry if this was the wrong thing to do.

aaahhh We'll let you off just this once....LOL!

This just means that if the two birds are dealt with by two different rehoming officers then you may end up with 2 calls (one for each bird). If they are dealt with by the same person then it will be ok as you will just get the one call.

Not to worry - at least you know for the future!

Yes Lesley Good Luck... :-)

I am sure someone will be in touch soon. Don't worry if it seems to take an age - this is because time drags when you are waiting on a call and also because the birds stay on the rehoming list for around 2 weeks before the rehoming process starts, so depending on what bird you have applied for there may be a bit of a wait. (Please don't name the bird you have applied for - thanks)
