It's sometimes quite a lengthy process but is very worth it.....hope you don't think of giving up halfway through.....took us roughly 3 months from start to finish of getting our Spencer....she, yes she,....has her quirks but we love her so much. She is still adjusting to us as we are to her....patience is the key...all the way through the process even after you get your new 'loved one'....it is hard when your'e waiting for that 'special' phone call at each stage....but soldier on.....you'll get your loved one that is especially 'fitted to you'....please keep us informed how things are going, we love to hear everyones stories how they are getting on....roll on the re-homing lists....!

Look what i've just done in that clean water you just gave me!

Hi Haley

We have lived with parrots for a number of years !!! and recently were lucky enough to foster Henry a BL bird who we love to bits. He is settling in well and has become one of the family.

Its a great experience and very rewarding

Good luck

Paul

welcome aboard you will be spoilt for choice when the rehoming list goes back up but like others have said patience is the key word. of course you could always choose to safehouse and have some temporary house guests whilst you find the perfect bird for you !

Hi Hayley, and welcome.
As Traci says, you could always apply to safehouse whilst you are waiting, we are always on the lookout for new safehouses all over the country.
If you want to know more about this option, just shout up.

Thanks Tina

Henry is a real star as you know he can’t fly but loves to climb and run along the floor. His wings are looking better not are still not right. He loves to interact with our other parrots (we keep a very close eye on them) and they all enjoyed helping open the presents at xmas, a sight we won’t forget !!!

We are hopefully continuing the good work done by Ian & Lin at his safe house, he’s getting used to different fruit and veg, but still likes Granny Smith apples the best.

He is beginning to talk, his voice is really clear and loves to bath and make a mess with the water.

We love him to bits and like nothing more to hear that little beak grind before he goes to sleep. One contented Henry !!!!

Thanks Again
