Do you have home visits for each application (if it gets that far) so if i had one for an application which wasn't successful would they do another home visit for another application at a later date?

No Nikki, you only have one homecheck as I understand it, because it would be the same person who would see the same things. Fingers crossed for the application though.

Hi Nikki, they check is usually specific to the species of bird and its individual needs you are applying for, if the same species is applied for of a similar nature then another check would not be needed.

How did ur home check go yesterday??

Was it the same ACO's as me if so they were lovely!

They were lovely and didn't make me feel nervous at all.
Now the waiting.....hopefully they will feel i can give the bird i applied for a good home. My old german shepherd did decide he was going to bark alot so i am hoping he didn't put them off!.

You were both great AND we definately didn't need to stop and buy any grotty petrol station sandwiches. Thankyou for the tea,samosas and biscuits. Nikki,as I have a barking dog yours was not a problem! He did settle down and decide we were OK after awhile. Thankyou both for the compliments- homechecks are not supposed to be scary. It's a time to ask questions and decide if you and the bird are right for eachother. My fingers are crossed for you both...

I got mine too

You see Nikki,those of us that do homechecks can look past barking dogs,I think he was just excited at the thought of a new member joining his family and was giving us his view!! Hopefully this shows that homechecks really shouldn't be a worry. Goodluck with your new addition when he arrives- I'm sure he will fit well into your family.X

Well we are home and after putting cage back together he peeked out of the travel cage and hopped straight in!
He tucked into some food and water and is now busy watching my dogs and doesn't seem at all bothered by anything!

So trip to pet shop for some toys tommorrow......
