Hi Rachel,
Sadly Chirpy died early last year. We're now owned by a mad little Green Cheek Conure called JJ. Haven't got around to changing my signature yet, might do one day!

Hi Rachel and welcome to Birdline

arr Ammie treats we have Henry our Birline Mealy Amazon he loves anything thats food we have to be carefull as hes a little physically challenged so a little piece of cheese or a small piece toast with honey are his favs, but only occasionally Henry !!!!!!!

We also have a Macaw + XXXXX the Grey and 2 budgies staying with us at the moment all like different little treats.

I can't get on with greys, they always dislike me lol they are facinating but so high maintenance whereas I find the amazons so much more easy going and less tempremental. My lot like anything that is on my plate lol, toast with butter (they always pick off the butter before throwing the rest on the floor!) my yellow crowned loves a chicken drumstick. I have a box of mixed nuts and each of mine has their own favourite, but cashews and red skin peanuts (monkey nuts in shell are a big no) are the favour of this week.
It sounds like you have made great progress already with Sally, a lot of it is time and patience, a good routine will help with the noise

Monkey nuts can contain spores that causes Aspergilliosis in your parrot. You can read more about it here

Hi Rachel, Welcome to Birdline. I too am an Ammie lover - I have 6 of the beauties (1 x OW; 2 x Mealy and 3 x BF). I absolutely adore Parrots and being early retired, love to spend all day with them and all evening too! Check out http://parrotland.weebly.com to find out all about me and my families (avian & Human & Feline too!!!). I have been a member of Birdline for almost a year now and am very pleased I joined! They are both friendly and informative. You have certainly got your work cut out with your Sally - please keep giving progress reports. It is so sattisfying when they reach another goalpost! Have fun with Birdline and your Sally!!!

Hi Rachel
I know how you feel, but please don't bash your brains in with the wall lol. It is very frustrating when the birdies are scared and it can take ages to get their trust but keep perseveering, it will come eventually
